So, I wake up today and realize that it’s Dec 24th! Freak’n-A…

As many of you know, I make it a point to not do the stardard best wishes bull that goes along with owning a blog. We all know what time of year it is. We all know what’s going down today, or yesterday or the day before, depending on where you are. They’ve been drilling it into our skulls for over a month, now. It’s happy this and holiday that.

I’m just so damn tired of the commercialization of everything. “We know you love your family, but you have to show them by buying some really expensive crap that they didn’t really want anyway.” Sure, you could get your mother or father a card and wish them all the best in the comming year. But, you know what, the’ll just throw that card out when your sibling buys them a laptop.

Yeah, that’s right, you didn’t love your mom enough to buy her a new laptop, jackass. She only spent ten hours giving birth to you, you ungrateful child! Your father? He may have a shed full of tools that you’ve bought him over the years, that he does not use, but…a card…really?

I just can’t win. Well, whatever, Happy Winter Solstice 2009, late though it may be.

I just recently discovered that Reddit has an Anime sub-reddit.

It’s not very active at the moment. At the current time there are 126 subscribers to it. There isn’t much content, and the stuff that’s on it seems to be mostly Anime News Network articles.

Of course, these types of social bookmarking sites thrive when there are a lot of visitors and submitters of content. Let’s get things moving people. I need a distraction from the daily soul devouring content that is the reddit home page.

I was just chilling at work the other day when a friend came over and told me that RightStuf was having another sale.

After the ADV sale I was pretty sure that I would be on board for the Geneon sale when it happened. Actually, I was pretty sure I would be there for any sale that happened.

So, I immediately started putting together my 25 DVD shopping list. I literally began drooling as I watched the total cost rack up. It was amazing watching the cost skyrocket 50, 100, 250, 342.12, 400. It is just so tempting to spend a $100 when it seems that I will save so much. That is save in comparison to what I would have had to pay if there were no sale. Would I have actually bought these if I did have to pay full price?

The answer is maybe and maybe not.

For some, simply having the subs is enough. The problem is that there are some among us who have a wanting, a yearning, an indescribable need to possess these overpriced plastic self-destructing shiny discs.

Oh, we are a shameful bunch.

My coworker gorged on Lupin III, which isn’t exactly what I wanted to spend my hard earned money on. So, I loaded up on shows that I found more interesting such as Black Heaven, Gatekeepers, Haibane Renmei, Koi Kaze, Sol Bianca, Texhnolyze, Trigun, and a few others. I think I managed to get the complete series of Black Heaven to Sol Bianca, but the Tex and Trigun were only partial so I dropped them and still had a few slots. My memory is a little fuzzy from that initial DVD-buying endorphin rush. Don’t quote me on that.

It was at that point that I realized that I had watched all of these series. Not only watched the series, but I watched the Genoen US releases of these series. I was extremely tempted to buy anyway, but I figured I would wait.

Restraint…how long?

I noticed that I had already watched a surprisingly large number of the shows listed for sale. This alarms me and makes me proud at the same time.

Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru has been a fairly entertaining show, but I’m not sure where the story is going.

That’s not what I wanted to talk about. No, this is a post about entertaining the thought of being a trap. I’m going to be honest because I’m always honest here. I would totally dress like a chic if I could pass myself off as a girl.

The only problem is that I think I would find it difficult to keep myself from being naughty.

I don’t have any real problems with lolitron.org, but this really makes my heart hurt. Reddit used to be a bastion of important thought. That article is funny, but it would have never made it to the front page of reddit six months ago.
