Lotte no Omocha – Wha…wha..what? That’s what they were talking about!?

Monday, July 4th, 2011

Yeah, I didn’t know.

Japan…god damn you, what the hell?

Basically, the entire plot of this show is based around the notion that Lotte’s species (succubus) must intake a special something from males in order to satisfy the need for a convenient plot device to drive the story.

I, literally, found out about this yesterday. I thought all the translations about “sucking off” were just plays on words. I thought it was just your average anime double entendre floating through skilled translation.

I was so wrong.

Although, this does explain why Naoya didn’t put up much of a fight when presented with a job opportunity across dimensions.

Wandering Son – Face

Pimples piss me off!

I’m all about wash-rinse-repeat. That’s why I think it’s important to maintain a proper clean face routine.

A clean face starts with the right product choice. It has to be something tuned to your personal skin type. Many people choose products based on what they are exposed to by friends or advertisements. I did my research at the store. I was looking for something clear and orange when I stumbled upon the Clean&Clear Morning Burst facial cleanser.

It has “Bursting Beads.”

So far, I’m not sure how well it works against the occasional pimple.  That’s okay, though, because it has “Bursting Beads.”

Ore no Imouto – My new favorite moment in anime

Manami is so damn awesome, despite her hair accessory handicap. Although, she has glasses (+1).

…that is all.

Requiem for the Phantom – It’s all the hormones in the beef

Apparently, Cal had a bit of a growth spurt during the time leap between  episode 19 and 20.  It looks more like a span of ten years rather than two. But, we are talking anime, here, where women of thirty years look twelve and those of sixteen look, well…older.

Phantom Requiem - Skinny little Cal Devens

This Sin City movie poster was the image that immediately came to mind. I decided to make a rip-off (click for larger image).

Asu no Yoichi! > Toradora! … !

asu-no-yoichi

After finishing Asu no Yoichi, I am forced to admit that it is indeed a far superior anime than Toradora. It accomplished in twelve episodes what Toradora was unable to do in twenty-five and one crappy SOS parody.

I know what you are thinking. If Asu no Yoichi! was so awesomotastic, why wasn’t I blogging about it? In fact, I actually spent last month’s post blogging about Toradora and not God’s Gift to Anime Asu no Yoichi.  I know it will be hard to understand for most people, but sometimes when something is of such a high quality and infused with such emotional significance, even a blogger such as I becomes lost for words.

But, what exactly made Asu no Yoichi such a good show?  The answer is more simple that one would imagine. It was grandiose monologues about the heroic nature of the other characters given by Yoichi.  His directly pointing out the noble actions of other characters is what made the show “work.”

Well, that and hair bows. Yeah, hair bows and giant boobs…and exclamation points. Exclamation points are the mark of a great series.
