I think it's pretty much agreed that the "no-conflict" guideline is our weakest one. Conflict cannot be avoided, and lk and I should not try to get rid of that altogether. Heck, he was presented with a conflict this morning (which I'm sure he'll blog about when he gets the opportunity to), and I went through a difficult time several hours ago. I don't think he necessarily means that conflict should be avoided at all costs, but only when it's unnecessarily. If someone is doing something wrong or something unreasonable, we won't simply try to look on the good side of that or anything. But there are times for conflict and times for peace, and we don't need to bother others simply to prove our point for needless reasons.

When I first thought of this idea, I was thinking of being Akari. Like... LARPing without the costumes and the fighting and the fake scenario. Be as much like her as possible. When I started talking to lk about it, it became a much more realistic idea: being nice to others and seeing where cheerfulness and kindness could take us. That was the intent behind it. We acknowledge that we cannot change our character; this is only a behavioral change.

As far as "loving" people goes, I believe that everyone should be loved, regardless of who he or she is and what the person may have done. I don't see why many people seem so resistant to our "experiment." What's wrong with putting a smile on our faces and being nice? This isn't supposed to be so meta that we're thinking about humanity as a whole and what this means when compared to our survival or existence or anything like that. All I want to do is to be a gentler and friendlier person. Because there are people having bad days or are in the worst period of their lives, and one smile and a kind gesture can make all the difference.

Sorry if the comment lacks coherence; it's late (compared to when I slept yesterday and woke up today) and I need my sleep now.

It's a cute little phase of attempting to be "good."

There's a women where I work who has a tendency to talk to herself. Narrating my own life seems like a fun idea, but I might come off as a bit crazy.
