Slayers Revolution – wishing for Naga
Okay, I knew it was a long shot, but I was really hoping for a Naga appearance in Slayers Revolution. I’ve already watched four episodes and no Naga. After a quick google on this subject, the opinions on random blogs and forums seem to be in a general anti-Naga direction. It would seem to be the “Naga laugh” that is at the root of the problem.
Honestly, it does not really bother me that much. Neither the English dub nor the Japanese version are particularly offensive. I understand the aversion, though. Although, it may be that a youth spent listening to metal and rock (…and country) at very large decibels has damaged the range of audible frequencies that I can pickup at the upper and lower end of things.
Also, what’s not to like about those huge…spikes.

I really hope she shows up too, if only for an episode… it’d be interesting to see her interaction with Amelia, given their relation.

I think it would be interesting as well to see how things work out if Naga and Amelia came together for an episode.
Mostly, I just think she’s a fun character and plays off of Lina well. I miss their rivalry.
I think it’ll be fun to have Naga travel the world with Lina and the group. I was ALWAYS wondering what it’ll be like for Zell, Amelia…. and Gourry. Lina’s all ready put up with her nonsense. Infact… I think she appeared in a the Slayers Playstation game… which is ONLY in Japan, BTW. *sigh* I can’t wait for Slayers Revolution to be released in the US…
Yeah, there needs to be another series with Naga + Lina. We only got her in the original series and some of the movies.
Slayers has always been a good “light” series to waste time on. I’d probably re-watch the dubs if I had the chance.
I hope Naga makes an appearance in Slayers Revolution/Evolution-R. But there is one problem with that. Her english voice actor is located in Texas, and according to Funimation, the dialogue is being recorded in New York. They would have to recast the role! Poor Naga!
Really, that’s too bad. I’m a fan of the English dub.
Coincidentally, a boxset of Slayers, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try on RightStuf had a reasonable price; so, I’ve been rewatching the entire series from the start.
